Only district in Seoul to achieve the feat... plans to strengthen care workforce
Ministry of Gender Equality and Family evaluates 228 institutions nationwide across 4 categories
The Eunpyeong-gu Family Center in Seoul received an A rating in the 2026 child-care support service provider evaluation, the district office announced Tuesday.
The child-care service program dispatches caregivers to households where parents — typically dual-income couples — are unable to provide consistent care, easing the burden on parents and ensuring a stable environment for children. The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family conducts annual evaluations of child-care service providers nationwide.
This year, 228 institutions across the country were assessed across four categories: service outcomes, service delivery performance, caregiver staffing and institutional operations.
The Eunpyeong-gu Family Center earned the A rating for its high user satisfaction scores and strong service quality management. Notably, it is the only district in Seoul to have achieved an A rating for three consecutive years.
Building on the results, the district plans to work with the family center to strengthen caregiver capabilities and improve service quality, while also partnering with the local community to create a child-care environment where parents can leave their children with confidence.
The Eunpyeong-gu Family Center also operates an emergency night-time child-care service for households that need care during evening hours.
"This achievement is the result of our consistent efforts to build a child-care environment where parents can entrust their children with peace of mind," District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said. "We will continue to provide support to reduce care gaps and ease the burden on parents."
