Hyundai Green Food announced Tuesday it received the Seoul mayor's commendation at the "2026 Seoul Middle-Aged Employment Merit Awards."
The company said it was recognized for expanding employment opportunities for middle-aged workers by prioritizing job competency over age in its hiring policy. Of the roughly 10,000 new hires over the past three years, about 2,500 — more than 25 percent of the total — were middle-aged workers.
Since 2023, Hyundai Green Food has participated in middle-aged job fairs organized by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and local governments more than 30 times a year. Since last year, it has also partnered with Seoul50Plus Foundation, a Seoul city agency supporting the middle-aged generation, to hold regular solo recruitment sessions and on-site interviews.
The company also participates in government programs supporting middle-aged employment. Since last year, it has joined initiatives including "Baby Boomer Right Job" and "Senior Internship," hiring more than 100 middle-aged workers and placing them in roles in cooking, service and operations support.
Kim Seong-yun, executive managing director of human resources at Hyundai Green Food, said the company would "continue to expand job opportunities where middle-aged workers can draw on their experience and capabilities, and build an environment where they can work with stability."
