Singer Soyu says she's all for living together before marriage

Singer Soyu has shared her candid thoughts on cohabitation before marriage.

On Monday, Soyu read through a series of listener stories about dating and marriage on her YouTube channel and offered her own views.

One story featured a woman unsure whether to move in with her boyfriend, who wanted to live together but had no intention of getting married. The boyfriend had offered to buy a home, cover the larger share of the costs and put the property in the woman's name.

Soyu answered without hesitation: "Yes." She said putting the home in the woman's name showed real trust. "Putting your name on a title deed is not a small thing," she said. "That is love."

Soyu then said she firmly supports living together before marriage. "When you live with someone, you start to notice the ways you're different," she said. "There's something fun about working through those differences." She added that if everything falls into place during that time, marriage naturally follows.

"Living together sounds wonderful," Soyu said, offering a direct recommendation to the person who wrote in. "You've been dating a long time — and now you're talking about moving in together. Just do it."
