The three-day event runs Tuesday through Thursday at Yongma Waterfall Park, featuring age-based games and hands-on activities, with safety checks completed ahead of the event
Jungnang-gu is hosting the "2026 Kkumnamu Family Sports Day" at Yongma Waterfall Park from Tuesday through Thursday, organized by the Jungnang-gu Daycare Center Federation.
About 3,000 participants are expected, including children, parents and childcare staff from local daycare centers across the district. The event is divided by association type: the Home Daycare Center Federation on Tuesday, the Public Daycare Center Federation on Wednesday, and the Private Daycare Center Federation on Thursday, with roughly 1,000 attendees each day.
The program features age-based games and novelty competitions for grandparent and parent representatives, along with a sports zone, physical play activities, a bubble experience station and a photo zone.
The district is working with the Jungnang Police Station and Jungnang Fire Station to ensure safe operations, with dedicated safety personnel deployed throughout the event. Officials conducted an on-site inspection on Oct. 2 to identify potential hazards and completed a safety management review on Oct. 6.
"I hope this sports day gives children a chance to run freely and share joy, and gives parents and childcare staff an opportunity to observe their children's growth and development together," District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said. "We will continue to listen to the voices of those working on the front lines of childcare and build an environment where both children and parents can feel safe and secure."
