Casamia expands sofa bed lineup with two new online-only models

Casamia, the furniture brand under Shinsegae Casa, is expanding its online-only sofa bed lineup with products aimed at single-person households and newlyweds who prioritize space efficiency.

Shinsegae Casa announced Wednesday the launch of two new sofa bed models — Nuvola and Souffle — that combine sofa and bed functions.

The move follows strong sales of Modd, a sofa bed introduced in August. Daily average sales of Modd in September rose roughly fourfold compared with the period immediately after its launch, from Aug. 19 to Aug. 31. Shinsegae Casa said it decided to expand its sofa bed lineup in response to that sales momentum.

Nuvola is a three-seat sofa with an integrated bed and storage compartment. The space beneath the seat can hold bedding and cushions, and the bed mode is activated by pulling the seat forward. The model can also be used flush against a wall.

Souffle is a two-seat sofa bed measuring 131 centimeters wide. It layers an 8-centimeter pocket-spring unit beneath 5 centimeters of high-density foam to improve sleeping comfort, and its compact footprint makes it suitable not only for living rooms but also for bedrooms and studies.

Both models feature water- and stain-resistant fabric. "We will meet evolving lifestyle demands through products that balance space efficiency, design and ease of use," a Shinsegae Casa official said.
