Former Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power official joined Hoban Group in 2010
Led Taihan Cable & Solution acquisition, served as executive vice president
Delivered inaugural address via company groupware, forgoing formal ceremony
Taihan Cable & Solution named Kim Jun-seok as its new CEO on Wednesday.
Kim graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in nuclear engineering before joining Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power and then Hoban Group in 2010, where he led the operational work behind the acquisition of Taihan Cable & Solution. From 2023, he served as head of management and later executive vice president overseeing operations, steering major mergers and acquisitions and restructuring efforts across the group.
Amid growing investment in power grids worldwide, Kim plans to strengthen the company's existing business competitiveness while mapping out a concrete future growth strategy. He will focus particularly on expanding the company's footprint in the United States and Europe and on building its capabilities in next-generation businesses such as HVDC and submarine cables.
Kim delivered his inaugural address through the company's internal groupware rather than holding a formal ceremony. He told employees that "small differences, when they accumulate, become a company's competitive edge," urging the company to pursue growth on the strength of the technology and experience Taihan Cable & Solution has built up. He also said the company would secure real competitive strength through focus and prioritization to enhance corporate value.
Kim said the growth of the company and its people must go hand in hand. Noting that "the lives of roughly 10,000 people — employees and their families at domestic and overseas affiliates alike — are bound up with Taihan Cable & Solution," he said he would ensure the company's growth translates into better lives for employees and their families, and that every member of the organization feels pride and security.
A company official said Kim "has been with Taihan Cable & Solution through its growth and transformation since the acquisition process itself," adding that the company expects him to "leverage his extensive management experience to sharpen our competitiveness in HVDC and submarine cables and to strengthen the foundation for sustained growth in global markets."
