Kim Si-woo to team up with Koepka at expansion side Motor City; Kim Joo-hyung stays with Jupiter Links alongside Woods
PGA Tour players Kim Si-woo and Kim Joo-hyung will both compete in the 2027 season of TGL, the indoor golf league co-founded by Tiger Woods.
TGL announced Wednesday (Korean Standard Time) a roster of 35 players across seven teams for the 2027 season. Kim Si-woo will join the newly created Motor City Golf Club, while Kim Joo-hyung will remain with his current team, Jupiter Links Golf Club.
Kim Si-woo becomes the second South Korean player to compete in TGL, following Kim Joo-hyung. Motor City is the first expansion team added since the league's launch. Kim Si-woo will be joined by Brooks Koepka, a five-time major champion, along with Jackson Koivu, Jake Knapp and Bud Cauley.
Kim Joo-hyung enters his third season with Jupiter Links alongside Woods, Max Homa, Akshay Bhatia and Keith Mitchell. Kim helped his team reach the playoffs last season by recording a hole-in-one in the final regular-season match and will again represent Jupiter Links.
TGL is an indoor golf league operated by TMRW Sports — co-founded by Woods and Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland — in partnership with the PGA Tour. The league combines virtual golf on a large screen with real short-game play around an actual green, with matches held at SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
For the 2027 season, the number of participating teams grows from six to seven and each team's roster expands from four players to five, though only three compete per team in actual matches. The new season opens Dec. 27.
McIlroy will play for Boston Common Golf alongside Hideki Matsuyama of Japan and Shane Lowry of Ireland, while the Los Angeles Golf Club — home to Collin Morikawa and Justin Rose among others — enters the new season as defending champion.
Kim Si-woo and Kim Joo-hyung have also both been named to the field for the Hero World Challenge, the invitational event hosted by Woods. The tournament runs four days starting Dec. 3 at Albany Golf Course in the Bahamas, drawing 20 of the world's top players. It will be Kim Si-woo's first appearance at the event.
The two players will now face the world's best not only at the Hero World Challenge but also in TGL.
