MOU signed to cultivate top talent
The Korea Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) signed a memorandum of understanding with Dong-A University on Wednesday to foster talent and promote research exchange in housing, urban development, real estate, construction and project financing.
The agreement reflects the complementary needs of both institutions — HUG's interest in educational and research partnerships to strengthen employee expertise, and Dong-A University's goal of building ties with regional businesses and supporting talent development.
Under the MOU, the two institutions plan to advance research exchange in project financing and real estate development, drawing on HUG's extensive experience and expertise in PF guarantees. They will also cooperate on high-quality education programs and initiatives to strengthen the employability of local talent, with the aim of building a framework for mutual growth.
"This agreement will serve as an opportunity to raise the professional and practical capabilities of our staff, while also giving young people in the region a valuable chance to prepare for their futures," HUG President Choi In-ho said. "We will continue to work closely with Dong-A University to invigorate research exchange and nurture talented individuals who can grow alongside the local community."
Meanwhile, HUG moved in April to ease the financial burden on the construction industry after builders reported cash-flow difficulties stemming from rising material costs during the Middle East crisis. The corporation announced a temporary 30 percent discount on premiums for its housing pre-sale guarantees — which protect buyers when a developer goes bankrupt — through May next year, and raised the discount ceiling to 60 percent for project sites where PF loan guarantees have been issued.
