SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won was spotted dining with employees at a popular restaurant in Euljiro, Jung-gu, Seoul — a neighborhood known as "Hip-jiro" for its trendy bar and dining scene.
According to business circles, Chey visited Dalmaji Gwangjang, a barbecue restaurant in Euljiro, on Wednesday evening for a dinner gathering with SK executives and employees.
The store is well known for its outdoor nighttime seating, meaning Chey dined in an open space where ordinary passersby could see him.
Dressed in a khaki shirt and a padded vest, Chey sat at an outdoor table, eating and chatting with employees. Those present appeared to enjoy the restaurant's signature barbecue alongside beer and soju.
Chey later moved to a nearby Jeju cuisine restaurant for a second round of drinks and conversation with the group.
In footage from the outing, Chey gestured broadly and spoke animatedly with employees in a relaxed atmosphere.
The sight of a major conglomerate chief mingling informally with employees has drawn wide attention online. Related footage spread rapidly on social media, surpassing 1 million views.
One user on X posted a video showing Chey walking with what appeared to be bodyguards, writing that they had spotted the SK Group chairman in person in the Euljiro 3-ga area.
This is not the first time Chey has been seen engaging with employees in an informal setting. In 2019, he held impromptu "happiness talks" at restaurants where he spoke freely with staff.
