Charges to be upgraded to parricide after mother-daughter relationship confirmed
A woman has been arrested on suspicion of killing her mother, who was in her 60s, in Seoul's Gangseo-gu.
The Gangseo Police Station in Seoul said Thursday it had arrested the woman, identified only as A, a woman in her 40s, on murder charges.
According to police, a call came in at around 8:15 a.m. Thursday from Ujangsan-dong in Gangseo-gu, with the caller saying she had killed her mother. The call was made by A herself, police said.
Officers who responded to the call apprehended A at the scene at around 8:40 a.m.
Police confirmed during the investigation that the two were mother and daughter, and said they plan to upgrade the charges to parricide and continue the probe.
