The Korea Land and Housing Corporation has launched an employee-led AI innovation network aimed at maximizing work efficiency and accelerating housing supply.

LH held the launch ceremony for its "LH AI Frontier" group Thursday at its Seoul regional headquarters, the corporation announced Friday. The event followed the "LH AI Grand Transformation" declaration held Oct. 15, and was designed to empower frontline employees to lead AI-driven changes in how the organization works.

The AI Frontier network is an in-house innovation talent network tasked with pioneering the adoption of AI technology in day-to-day operations and spreading a culture of AI use across the entire organization.

LH formed its first cohort of about 150 members — drawn largely from participants in an AI innovation challenge — and piloted a "generative AI subscription platform" that allows users to access nine commercial AI models, including ChatGPT and Gemini, through a single interface. A second cohort of 150 was added earlier this year, bringing the total to about 300 members and allowing the corporation to test the practical applicability of AI across its operations.

The third cohort, launched Thursday, comprises 139 employees who have demonstrated a commitment to AI-driven efficiency. Over the next year, they will receive specialized training, work to solve on-the-ground challenges using AI, and share the know-how they develop with the rest of the organization.

LH President Lee Seong-hun attended the ceremony in person, presenting appointment letters to Frontier representatives and pledging direct CEO-level support for the initiative.

"We are at a point where we must pursue the national tasks of rapid housing supply and building the foundation for advanced industries at an unprecedented pace — which means we must shift our ways of working and our public services to an entirely different paradigm," Lee said. "AI transformation is the core strategy of LH's management innovation."

He added that employee participation was essential for meaningful change. "We will create a safe and convenient AI work environment where Frontier members can perform to their fullest, and share outstanding results across the entire organization," he said.

LH said it plans to use the launch of the third cohort as a springboard to expand AI use across all field operations and deliver concrete results from its AI Grand Transformation initiative. Immediately after the ceremony, LH's AI Innovation Center held a training session for Frontier members on practical AI applications in the workplace.

Meanwhile, LH is working with Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics to develop an "AI modular home" that integrates AI-enabled home appliances into modular housing units.
