Supplying 'LG Professional' to German commercial laundry firm Schilling
AI Core Tech drives energy efficiency gains
Participated in Europe's largest laundry trade fair Friday
Commercial laundry earnings expanding in North America and Asia
LG Electronics said it will supply its large-capacity commercial laundry appliances under the LG Professional brand to Schilling, a German commercial laundry solutions company, next month. The company has been posting improved year-on-year results in the European commercial washing machine market.
European commercial washing machine sales rose about 20 percent year-on-year through September, LG Electronics said Sunday.
The company has been building its earnings through large-scale business-to-business deals, with the Schilling partnership serving as a prime example. Schilling is a distribution and installation specialist that supplies laundry equipment and solutions to laundromats and dry cleaners across Germany. LG Electronics said the deal reflects recognition of its high-efficiency products and differentiated management solutions.
LG Professional appliances are built on AI Core Tech — a combination of core component technology and AI — which improves energy efficiency while handling large-capacity washing and drying loads. The AI analyzes laundry weight, adjusts water usage accordingly, and optimizes drying conditions to cut time as well as water and electricity consumption. The washing machines also feature high-speed spin cycles of up to about 18 rotations per second, shortening drying time further.
LG Electronics has also been stepping up efforts to expand its B2B customer reach in Europe. The company participated in EXPO Detergo International 2026, Europe's largest laundry trade fair, which opened in Milan, Italy, on Friday.
Held every four years, the exhibition saw LG Electronics set up a booth of about 90 square meters — more than twice the size of its previous showing. The company displayed products capable of caring for dry-clean-only garments such as wool and silk using water and dedicated detergents, alongside a range of commercial laundry appliances spanning capacities from 10 kilograms to 30 kilograms.
Alongside its products, LG Electronics also introduced a dedicated management solution designed to support efficient store operations. Laundry Crew is a service that allows equipment managers to remotely control devices, receive error notifications, and use smart diagnostics, among other features.
Meanwhile, LG Electronics is accelerating its global push by expanding its commercial laundry appliance business in North America and Asia as well as Europe. In North America, the world's largest market, the company more than doubled its supply volume this year to CSC ServiceWorks, the top laundry solutions company, compared with the previous year.
In Asian markets including Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam, LG Electronics is broadening its local business base by strengthening ties with major commercial laundry appliance distribution channels.
According to market research firm SkyQuest, the global commercial laundry market is projected to grow from $7.28 billion in 2025 to $11.42 billion by 2033.
"We will grow rapidly in the global B2B laundry market by leading with high-efficiency commercial laundry appliances across a wide range of capacities and differentiated management solutions," said Son Chang-woo, head of LG Electronics' Living Solution Business Division within the Home Solution Business Unit.
