From a live concert to a sunset walk along Yongmasan Skywalk, the free event brought together music, history and fall scenery — with performances by Jeon Yeong-rok, Sorisae, Dick Family and Dream Girls spanning generations
Jungnang-gu held the "Mangwoo Historic Cultural Park Autumn Sunset Concert" on Friday at Mangwoo Munhwamadang and the Yongmasan Skywalk area within the park.
The event was organized jointly by the district and the local Nagi Mangwoo Social Cooperative, which also operates Mangwoo Cafe. The cooperative plans to return proceeds from the concert to residents and reinvest them in local development.
Four acts performed at the concert — Jeon Yeong-rok, Sorisae, Dick Family and Mistrot 4 Dream Girls — presenting well-known songs that spanned generations. Emcee duties were handled by Iceman Lee Deok-jae. No advance registration was required, and admission was free, allowing residents and visitors alike to enjoy the music.
After the concert, participants joined a program called "Autumn Color Walk." Setting off from Mangwoo Munhwamadang at 4:40 p.m., they walked roughly 2.1 kilometers along the Jungnang Donghaekkil trail, passing the grave of artist Lee Jung-seop and the Jungnang Observatory before arriving at Yongmasan Skywalk to take in a sunset over Seoul.
Yongmasan Skywalk has gained a reputation as a prime sunset-viewing spot through SNS, drawing more than 1.88 million cumulative visitors. Participants watched the sky turn crimson over the Seoul cityscape, reflecting on the meaning of "mangwoo" — "forgetting one's worries."
Mangwoo Historic Cultural Park is a historical and cultural site that preserves the legacies of modern Korean figures including Yu Gwan-sun, Han Yong-un, Bang Jeong-hwan and Lee Jung-seop. The district has been developing the park as a space for culture and leisure as well as history, and used the autumn concert to highlight a new dimension of its appeal.
"I hope this autumn sunset concert, where the glow of the evening sky met live music, will remain a beautiful fall memory for our residents," Jungnang-gu District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said. "We will continue to nurture Mangwoo Historic Cultural Park so that it becomes a cultural space woven into the everyday lives of our community."
