Winner receives $680,000, GV80 as bonus
Shin Sang-hun finishes as top-ranked KPGA player
Tournament marks 10th anniversary with hospitality program
Genesis held the 2026 Genesis Championship, co-sanctioned by the KPGA Tour and DP World Tour, at Woojung Hills Country Club in Cheonan from Thursday to Sunday.
Katsura Yuto claimed the title with a final score of 13-under-par 271 over four rounds. He received $680,000 in prize money along with a GV80 Hybrid as a bonus, and earned playing rights on both the KPGA Tour and DP World Tour for the next two years.
"I sincerely thank Genesis and everyone involved for sponsoring the tournament," Katsura said. "If I get the chance, I'd love to drive the GV80 Hybrid I received as a bonus back in Japan."
Shin Sang-hun, who finished as the highest-ranked KPGA Tour player in the field, earned an invitation to the 2027 Genesis Scottish Open.
The Genesis Championship has been held since 2017 to support the development of men's golf in Korea and the growth of its players, making this year its 10th anniversary. The KPGA Tour and DP World Tour have co-sanctioned the event since 2024, and the total purse stands at $4 million. About 30,000 spectators visited the course over the four days.
Genesis also ran a hospitality program to help players and caddies perform at their best. The brand provided 67 vehicles for player transportation, including the GV80 Coupe, G90 and GV70 electrified models, and deployed three Uni-verse hydrogen fuel-cell buses in line with the DP World Tour's sustainability campaign, Green Drive. A dedicated rest area called the Players and Caddies Cafe offered beverages and snacks to players and caddies.
Spectator programming was also on offer. The Fan Village featured special 10th-anniversary merchandise and Genesis Collection items, while family-oriented activities included junior golf lessons and player autograph sessions.
Young golfers received one-on-one lessons from past Genesis Championship winners and were invited to a dinner, while exclusive spaces such as the Genesis Suite and Genesis Guest Lounge were also available. Nine vehicles — including the GV80 Hybrid, GV90 Neolun and GV60 Magma — were displayed throughout the venue, and the GMR-001 hypercar made its debut at the Genesis Magma Racing Zone.
Meanwhile, Genesis served as title sponsor of the 2026 Genesis Scottish Open in Scotland and the 2026 Genesis Invitational in California this year. The brand is also set to participate as official vehicle sponsor of the 2026 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, scheduled for next month.
