'Private use of military facilities is a crime; I will release the video at the national audit'
People Power Party lawmaker Ju Jin-woo on Monday alleged that Kim Hye-kyung, the wife of President Lee Jae Myung, played golf at a military golf course accompanied by a well-known professional golfer.
Ju posted on his Facebook page that day, alongside a photo believed to show Kim, a message reading: "Kim Hye-kyung's imperial lesson with a pro golfer — this administration will end over golf."
Regarding the incident, Ju said Kim played what he called "imperial golf" with a famous professional golfer on Tuesday at Taereung Country Club, receiving a private lesson on the course in a three-person round and gaining access to the presidential-exclusive clubhouse.
"I have secured video and evidence," he said. "A field lesson with a world-class professional golfer costs tens of millions of won. Who paid for it? Is this why they set up that strange golf task force?"
Ju said a man also participated in the round, adding that the private use of military facilities by the Lee Jae Myung family is a crime. He noted that Tuesday was the same day 19 people were killed or injured in a fire in Yeoksam-dong and the day after the funeral of a Bucheon firefighter. He added that he would release the video at Monday's national audit.
The National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee is conducting a comprehensive audit of the Ministry of Justice and the Court Administration Office that day. Ju had introduced what he called the "Lee Jae Myung imperial golf special prosecutor act" on Oct. 13.
