Real owner who has driven a Wrangler Sahara 4xe since 2023
To take part in online and offline campaigns for one year
Special benefit for first 20 buyers of white Wrangler Sahara
Jeep has named actor Seol In-ah as its new brand ambassador. Seol, who purchased and has been driving a Jeep Wrangler since 2023, will take part in brand promotional activities for the next year.
Stellantis Korea announced Monday that Jeep is launching an ambassador partnership with Seol. The company plans to draw on her firsthand experience as a Jeep owner to introduce consumers to everyday life with the Wrangler and a range of driving experiences.
Seol has appeared in the drama series "Twinkling Watermelon" and "Nomunsa Nomujin," and showcased her athletic side on the variety program "Musoesonyeodan." She is currently starring in the tvN drama series "Love in Disguise," which premiered last Tuesday, playing a character who disguises herself as a male personal secretary.
A key factor behind Jeep's decision to select Seol was her track record as an actual user of the vehicle.
Seol purchased the Wrangler Sahara 4xe in 2023 and has been driving it for about three years. The 4xe designation is used for Jeep's plug-in hybrid electric vehicle models.
For her ambassador activities, she has chosen a new white Wrangler Sahara. She plans to draw on the experience she has built driving her previous vehicle to highlight the Wrangler's features and how it fits into everyday life.
Seol will participate in Jeep's official SNS channels as well as online and offline advertising campaigns and customer events.
"The excitement I felt when I first encountered the Wrangler is still vivid," Seol said. "It means even more to become an ambassador for a brand I have genuinely loved and enjoyed. Having shared so many moments behind the wheel of a Jeep, I feel I can convey its special appeal more authentically than anyone."
To mark the ambassador appointment, Jeep has also prepared a special offer for Wrangler Sahara buyers.
The first 20 customers to purchase a white Wrangler Sahara — the same color Seol chose — will receive a special purchase benefit worth 1 million won ($755), along with a 1:18 scale die-cast Wrangler model bearing Seol's handwritten autograph.
Bang Sil, chief executive of Stellantis Korea, said Seol is both a genuine Wrangler owner and an actor who embodies a free-spirited lifestyle, and is expected to bring the Wrangler's appeal closer to female customers in particular. "We will broaden the shared appreciation for Jeep's free and adventurous lifestyle and expand the brand's reach to new customer segments," Bang said.
Jeep has consistently chosen celebrities who actually own its vehicles as brand ambassadors.
Its first ambassador was singer-actor Rain (Jung Ji-hoon), who owned a Gladiator pickup truck. Actor Kim Seong-ryeong, who owned the first Grand Cherokee imported to South Korea, followed as the second ambassador.
Last year, actor Kang Ha-neul, a Wrangler owner, served as ambassador. With Seol's appointment, Jeep continues its practice of partnering with people who have real ownership experience, aiming to expand its customer touchpoints.
Meanwhile, to mark the brand's 85th anniversary, Jeep launched special editions of the Wrangler and Gladiator in South Korea on Oct. 15. A total of 30 units are available in limited quantities — 20 Wrangler Rubicons and 10 Gladiator Rubicons — featuring a design that reinterprets the checkered seat pattern from 1990s Wranglers.
