Forest walks, electric cart tours among outdoor offerings for all ages
Wellness sessions including stretching and meditation also on offer
Walkerhill Hotels & Resorts announced Monday it is running a range of autumn "Walkee" programs designed for families to enjoy nature in the heart of the city.
"Walkee" is the hotel's in-house leisure experience specialist role. A variety of indoor and outdoor programs tailored to the season will run through Nov. 30, helping guests explore the natural surroundings and spaces of Walkerhill, which sits at the foot of Achasan mountain.
The flagship offering, "Kids Play with Walkee," was developed in response to growing demand for "ki-cance" — a portmanteau of "kids" and "vacance" describing hotel stays centered on children. Kids join Walkee and their peers at Forest Park, an outdoor picnic area, for physical activities and play sessions. Dinner is provided in the form of asparagus shrimp fried rice prepared by the hotel's chef.
While the children's program is underway, parents are free to spend time as they please across the hotel — at the Walkerhill Library, or at the golf, tennis and swimming facilities. Guests staying in club rooms can also take advantage of the club lounge's happy hour benefits.
Also on offer is "Forest Experience with Commentary," in which a Walkee guide holding a professional forest interpretation certificate leads guests along Walkerhill's woodland trails, sharing stories about the local ecosystem, flora and fauna. A separate "Walkerhill Tour" takes guests through the hotel's key spaces, offering the history and behind-the-scenes stories of each.
A range of wellness programs rounds out the lineup. "Healing Forest" brings stretching and meditation sessions to the hotel's forest yoga deck; "Mind Care Yoga" uses seasonal drinks to help guests find balance between body and mind; and "Walkerhill in a Bottle: Signature Liqueur" lets guests craft their own one-of-a-kind infused spirit.
"Walkee is a role unique to Walkerhill, designed to help customers experience the hotel's nature and spaces in the richest possible way," a hotel official said. "We hope guests will find rest and renewed energy in nature through the various Walkee programs and enjoy a meaningful autumn hotel stay."
