About 40,000 spectators visit over four days from Thursday to Sunday
US magazine names venue among world's top 100 golf resorts
BS Group announced Tuesday that the BMW Ladies Championship 2026 — South Korea's only regular LPGA Tour event — concluded successfully at Pine Beach Golf Links in Haenam-gun, South Jeolla Province, from Thursday to Sunday.
Pine Beach hosted the tournament for the second consecutive year. This year's field featured 84 top-ranked players, including 15 KLPGA members, competing for a $2.35 million purse. Japan's Yoshida Yuri claimed the title with a final score of 17-under-par.
The tournament's momentum carried over into the local economy. About 40,000 spectators visited the venue over the four days despite poor weather. The event was also broadcast live worldwide, raising Haenam's profile and helping establish it as an international sports tourism destination.
Pine Beach earned a spot on Golf.com and Golf Magazine's 2026 list of the world's top 100 golf resorts this year, with some calling it "the Pebble Beach of Asia." The tournament was the first LPGA event held at the venue since that recognition, drawing heightened attention from golf fans at home and abroad.
Pine Beach features 27 holes across three courses — Pine, Beach and Oceano — with 10 holes running alongside the sea, offering sweeping views of the Dadohae archipelago. Signature holes drew large crowds during the tournament, including the par-3 sixth and par-4 seventh on the Beach Course, both requiring tee shots across the water.
Course management and tournament operations also drew praise. Pine Beach maintained top playing conditions through improvements made to international standards, including replacing fairway turf with zoysiagrass and introducing a walking golf program.
BS Group operated an on-site booth throughout the tournament to showcase its major projects and vision. The booth drew about 3,000 visitors over the four days through programs including a roulette event, prize giveaways and sales of Pine Beach merchandise.
Meanwhile, BS Group is expanding its business with a focus on construction, real estate development and energy. Alongside its housing business centered on the "Sujain" brand, the company is advancing Solaseado, a public-private urban development project being pursued with South Jeolla Province, Haenam-gun and other partners. Solaseado is picking up pace following the ground-breaking of a national AI computing center in August and the announcement of Samsung Electronics' plan to invest 17 trillion won ($12.8 billion) in an AI data center at the site.
