LG Energy Solution is partnering with global renewable energy company Enerjis as part of its strategy to expand its ESS business worldwide.

LG Energy Solution announced Tuesday that it signed a non-binding MOU with Enerjis at its Parc1 headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, to cooperate on ESS projects in Europe and North America.

Under the agreement, the two companies will work toward supplying approximately 1.5GWh in Europe and 0.5GWh in North America — a combined 2GWh — within the next 24 months. They also plan to explore expanding total supply to around 4.5GWh through their European and US subsidiaries.

Enerjis is an Israel-based independent power producer specializing in renewable energy. The company operates across key markets including Europe, North America and Israel, handling the full development-to-operation cycle for solar, wind and ESS projects, and is working to build a global portfolio of more than 8GW.

The two companies are expected to kick off their collaboration with the Jonava project in Lithuania, a combined renewable energy development that includes an ESS of approximately 320MWh. The project is currently under development and is targeting commercial operations in 2027.

The partnership builds on an earlier collaboration in 2024, when LG Energy Solution supplied products for Enerjis's Nowe Czarnowo ESS project in Poland.

The deal is significant because it secures large-scale ESS project opportunities for LG Energy Solution in Europe. Having already built momentum in North America through ESS projects tied to AI data centers, power grids and renewable energy, the company now plans to extend that reach into Europe to strengthen its global ESS footprint.

Asa Levinger, CEO of Enerjis, said the agreement would "solidify a long-term partnership with LG Energy Solution," adding that the company looks forward to "exploring opportunities to deploy high-quality energy storage solutions across Enerjis's project pipeline and accelerating the expansion of renewable energy in key markets."

Kang Chang-beom, executive vice president and head of LG Energy Solution's ESS Battery Business Division, said the partnership with Enerjis would "expand ESS business opportunities in Europe and North America and further strengthen our global customer base," pledging to "accelerate global ESS business growth on the back of differentiated technology and local production capabilities."

Meanwhile, LG Energy Solution posted sales of 9.64 trillion won ($7.29 billion) and an operating profit of 756 billion won in the third quarter of this year, both quarterly records. The operating profit was more than double the market consensus of 326.4 billion won.
