'Is that your boyfriend?' Actor Hwang Jung-eum posts selfie with mystery man, sets record straight

Actor Hwang Jung-eum, a former member of girl group Sugar, found herself fielding questions about her love life after posting a photo with a tall man — only to shut down the speculation herself, saying he was just a male friend.

Hwang shared a series of everyday photos Tuesday with the caption "These days, us."

The images showed personal selfies, outings with her children, and relaxed moments at restaurants and on the street.

What particularly caught fans' attention was a photo of Hwang standing side by side with a tall man in a coat.

One user commented, "Oh my, is that your boyfriend in the first photo?" Another chimed in, "Is that your significant other? So sweet." Hwang replied directly, saying he was a male friend named Suniri.

Hwang married a former professional golfer turned businessman in 2016, and the couple have two sons together. Last year, the two parted ways.

Hwang made her debut with girl group Sugar in 2002 and went on to build an active career as an actor. Known for her sharp wit and expressive reactions, she has also made a strong impression across numerous variety programs.
