SK Telecom will invite 1,299 long-term customers to an exclusive showing of the musical "Chicago," reserving an entire performance for the occasion and offering perks including a special post-show cast greeting.
The company announced Wednesday it will hold the "T Long-term Customer Program Musical Day," a privately booked performance of "Chicago" for its long-serving subscribers.
The event is scheduled for Dec. 8. A total of 1,299 people — long-term customers and their guests — are expected to attend. The showing will feature "Chicago" leads Choi Jeong-won and Ivy, playing Velma and Roxie respectively, marking the first time the two actors share the stage together this season.
SK Telecom will assign seats based on the length of each customer's subscription, with longer-tenured customers seated closer to the stage. After the performance, the cast will hold a special greeting for the audience. Gifts and on-site events have also been prepared for attendees.
Customers wishing to participate can apply through the event page under the "T Long-term Customer" menu in the T membership app. Applicants may choose to attend alone or with one guest, and the application period runs through Nov. 17.
SK Telecom has been expanding experience-based benefits for long-term customers this year. The company has revamped the name and operational structure of its existing long-term customer program and updated the T membership app's home screen to display relevant benefits at a glance.
Interest in the program has been growing. According to SK Telecom, both the average monthly search volume for the long-term customer program on major domestic portals and the number of visitors to the promotional page during application periods more than doubled compared with the previous year.
Satisfaction among participants has also been high. A survey of customers who took part in "T Long-term Customer Day" events this year found that satisfaction with the events, willingness to recommend them, and intent to continue using SK Telecom all exceeded 90 percent. The churn rate among event participants was also nearly half that of non-participants.
SK Telecom ranked first in the mobile phone category of the Korea Customer Satisfaction Index survey released last month. Customer satisfaction scores related to long-term customer benefits rose significantly from the previous year.
"It is especially meaningful to be able to offer our long-term customers a performance by actors who have shared the history of a single production over many years," said Yoon Jae-woong, head of SK Telecom's Product & Brand division. "We will continue to approach our long-term customers with the same sincerity as from the very beginning, and keep expanding differentiated experiences and benefits so that SK Telecom becomes a company they want to stay with even longer."
Meanwhile, in September SK Telecom held an "Adventure Day" event, booking the entire indoor section of Lotte World Adventure for a late-night exclusive and inviting 3,000 long-term customers and their guests. The event ran for six hours, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning, offering access to 11 rides and a range of interactive activities.
