The Daegu City Happiness Promotion Social Service Agency, commonly known as the Daegu Happiness Promotion Agency, said Wednesday that Yun Young-ae has officially taken office as its new director.
After receiving her letter of appointment from Daegu Mayor Choo Kyung-ho and completing a brief introduction with staff, Yun immediately began reviewing key issues across departments, marking a hands-on start to her tenure.
Yun holds a doctorate in social welfare and previously served as director of the residents' welfare bureau at Daegu's Nam-gu district office, as well as an eighth- and ninth-term Daegu City Assembly member. She said her top priorities upon taking office are "on-the-ground communication" and "citizen-centered services."
In line with those priorities, the agency plans to swiftly reorganize its internal structure and conduct sequential visits to its major facilities to put field-focused administration into full practice.
"Our foremost mission is to provide tailored social services that citizens can genuinely feel in their daily lives," Yun said. "We will move away from formalistic desk-bound administration and instead listen directly to the voices of citizens and frontline workers."
She added that she would work to build a healthy organizational culture in which staff take pride in their work, "so that energy can translate into high-quality services for the people of Daegu."
