18 consecutive years atop the automotive tire category
2 consecutive years atop the EV-dedicated tire category
Hankook Tire & Technology announced Thursday that it swept two categories in the 2026 Korean Standard Quality Excellence Index survey organized by the Korean Standards Association, topping the automotive tire category for 18 consecutive years and the EV-dedicated tire category for two consecutive years.
The Korean Standard Quality Excellence Index is a comprehensive quality satisfaction benchmark jointly developed by the Korean Standards Association and the Korean Society for Quality Management. It evaluates product and service quality and customer satisfaction through assessments by both consumers and industry experts, and is considered the most authoritative quality satisfaction index in South Korea.
Hankook Tire has held the top spot in the automotive tire category every year since 2009. In the EV-dedicated tire category — established last year — the company's iON brand, the world's first full-lineup EV-dedicated tire brand, claimed first place for the second consecutive year.
The iON lineup is built on Hankook Tire's proprietary EV-specific technology platform, iON Innovative Technology. It balances four core technologies — low noise, enhanced mileage, superior grip and low rolling resistance — to maximize electric vehicle performance.
Leveraging that technology, iON supplies original-equipment tires to major electrification models from global automakers, including the Porsche Taycan, Lucid Gravity, BMW i4, iX and iX3, Hyundai Motor Company Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 9, Kia EV2, EV3, EV4 and EV9, and Polestar 4.
"We will continue to advance innovative technologies and product competitiveness suited to the future mobility environment, deliver differentiated brand experiences to our customers, and strengthen our position as a global top-tier tire company," a Hankook Tire official said.
Meanwhile, Hankook Tire has been reinforcing its global partnerships to boost brand competitiveness, including signing an MOU with global sports brand Puma Korea to strengthen the brand appeal of Tstation, its tire-centered automotive total service network.
