Carrier becomes member of 149-airline international cooperative
Discusses maintenance support with carriers on key routes
Parata Air announced Friday that it completed formal membership procedures for the International Airlines Technical Pool after attending the organization's 134th IATP Conference, held in Guangzhou, China, from Oct. 10 to Oct. 14.
The IATP is an international cooperative formed by airlines worldwide to provide mutual support for aircraft parts and maintenance resources. Member airlines can draw on the network to obtain necessary parts and equipment when unexpected aircraft defects or maintenance needs arise during overseas operations.
At the conference, Parata Air held individual consultations with airlines operating in and around its key current and prospective routes, including those in China, Japan, Vietnam and Hong Kong. The carrier discussed emergency parts and maintenance support arrangements with 15 airlines that operate the same aircraft and engine types, and agreed to establish direct emergency contact channels between operational staff.
Parata Air also explored potential partnerships with global freight and logistics companies as well as aircraft parts and maintenance specialists to enable rapid response to AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations — cases where an aircraft is grounded due to a maintenance issue during flight operations.
The airline expects its IATP membership to strengthen its ability to handle unexpected maintenance situations at overseas destinations and to help minimize flight delays and cancellations.
As the carrier pursues route expansion to major Chinese cities and plans to launch services to the Americas next year, it intends to continuously reinforce its overseas maintenance support framework in line with the growth of its flight network.
"For stable aircraft operations, a global cooperation framework that enables rapid response at locations around the world is just as important as in-house maintenance capabilities," a Parata Air official said. "We will use this IATP membership as an opportunity to expand cooperation with airlines and maintenance specialists worldwide, and to create a flight environment where customers can travel with greater peace of mind."
Meanwhile, Parata Air recently relocated its check-in counters at Terminal 1 of Incheon International Airport for the winter season, moving from Zone B to Zone K.
The relocation follows an adjustment to check-in counter operating zones at Incheon International Airport. The move to Zone K, which is closer to the center of the terminal, is expected to improve customer access to check-in counters and enhance the overall airport experience.
