Ministry of Health and Welfare evaluation also awards top rating in education and research
Inha University Hospital has secured the top "1-A" rating in the Ministry of Health and Welfare's 2026 Healthcare Quality Assessment, maintaining its status as a top-tier medical institution for seven consecutive years.
The "1-A" rating is awarded to only eight hospitals nationwide — the top 2 percent among all general hospitals in the country, making it the most prestigious designation in the evaluation.
This year's assessment verified 55 detailed indicators across six categories based on clinical performance data from 2025.
Inha University Hospital received the "1-A" rating in patient safety, healthcare quality, public service, and care delivery and support, while also earning the top first-tier rating in education and training and research and development — sweeping all categories.
As the leading tertiary hospital in Incheon, the hospital operates a regional emergency medical center, a pediatric emergency medical center and a regional cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease center, spearheading the development of critical and essential medical infrastructure.
Designated by the Ministry of Health and Welfare as a research-focused hospital, it also leads advanced medical research while expanding ties with underserved medical institutions — including Incheon Metropolitan Medical Center, where it supports a remote intensive care unit, and Baengnyeong Hospital, where it provides a remote consultation system — contributing to the strengthening of the regional public health network.
"This achievement is the fruit of every staff member's commitment to patient-centered care," said Lee Taek, president of Inha University Medical Center and Inha University Hospital. "We will continue to fulfill our role as both the last line of defense and the finest medical institution that local residents can turn to with confidence."
