Hanam Urban Corporation's cancellation of private-sector bid tied to government's new housing land plan
Hanam city said Monday that Hanam Urban Corporation's cancellation of a private-sector bid for the K-Culture Complex (K-Star World) — announced under Hanam Urban Corporation Notice No. 2026-140 — does not mean the K-Culture complex project itself has been halted or scrapped.
The city said the cancellation followed the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's announcement Thursday of a new housing land development plan for "Hanam Misa K-Culture," which explicitly includes a plan to build a K-Culture complex as part of efforts to develop the area into a nature and culture hub for the eastern Greater Seoul region. The ministry's press release, titled "Rapid supply of 104,000 new housing lots in the metropolitan area," lists the Hanam Misa K-Culture site for 12,000 units and outlines the complex development plan on page 2.
The city doubled down on its position that the cancellation applies only to the existing private-sector bidding process and that the broader vision for the K-Culture complex remains intact.
