Foreign tourists browsed a wide range of products at Namdaemun Market in Jung-gu, Seoul, on Thursday morning. Sales to foreign visitors at the market, one of Seoul's most iconic traditional markets, jumped 65.6 percent — from 9.51 billion won ($7.09 million) to 15.76 billion won. Everyday items such as scarves, exfoliating towels and bath baskets have recently emerged as popular products among foreign tourists after spreading by word of mouth on social media, a trend that appears to have boosted visits to the traditional market.
