Company holds 'Taiwan Gaming OLED Road Show' in Taipei, showcasing products from 20 to 40 inches featuring world-first and best-in-class technologies, including 5K2K resolution OLED and RGB stripe OLED panels
LG Display is holding a "Taiwan Gaming OLED Road Show" in Taipei, unveiling its latest gaming OLED panels to major global customers as the company accelerates its push into the fast-growing gaming monitor market with the industry's widest lineup and a range of world-first technologies.
Themed "Empowering Faster, Clearer, Brighter Display Experiences," the road show is drawing more than 20 global gaming monitor manufacturers, who will get hands-on time with LG Display's newest technologies and discuss future collaboration.
The showcase spans gaming OLED panels from the 20-inch to the 40-inch range. Headline products include a 39-inch OLED monitor panel delivering the world's first 5K2K ultra-high resolution and a panel built on an RGB stripe structure. The RGB stripe OLED panel improves text readability through a uniform subpixel arrangement and supports a 240Hz refresh rate, targeting both gaming and productivity use.
LG Display is also previewing next-generation technologies, including a gaming OLED that reaches what the company calls a true black level of "1000" — an industry first — and a panel capable of up to 2,000 nits peak brightness for vivid, lifelike visuals. The company will also present its next-generation gaming OLED technology roadmap, which includes "DFR 2.0," a feature that lets users switch between ultra-high refresh rate and ultra-high resolution modes without a high-end graphics card.
Beyond OLED's traditional strengths in response time and contrast ratio, LG Display has also worked to sharpen its reflectance performance. Using its own surface treatment technology, the company has achieved a 0.3 percent reflectance rate — the lowest among current monitor panels. It plans to demonstrate OLED's superiority over LCD in eliminating ghosting and image overlap through side-by-side comparisons at the event.
The industry broadly expects OLED's share of the gaming monitor market to expand rapidly. LG Display entered the monitor OLED market in 2022, drawing on more than a decade of tandem WOLED expertise, and within two years had signed on more than 10 global monitor manufacturers as customers. The company has earned recognition for top-tier OLED competitiveness across key performance metrics including refresh rate, response time and resolution.
"We will expand collaboration with global customers across both current and next-generation products," said Lee Hyun-woo, head of LG Display's large display business division. "We are committed to delivering differentiated customer value in the high-end monitor market."
