Handcrafted works and creative pieces on display and for sale; hands-on programs open to all residents
The Haenam-gun Education Foundation will host the Wow Market on June 10 to share the learning achievements of lifelong education participants with the broader community and promote a culture of participatory lifelong learning.
The event will be held at the Haenam-gun Lifelong Learning Center and is designed as a space for communication and exchange, featuring exhibitions and sales of handcrafted goods and creative works produced through lifelong education programs, alongside a range of hands-on activities.
Highlights include displays and sales of handmade crafts, an exhibition of works by literacy and regular course participants, a one-day class on making eco-friendly EM cleaning products, and sales of coffee, beverages and snacks — all designed for residents to enjoy and take part in directly.
Lifelong education learners will play an active role in running the event, which organizers hope will boost participants' pride in their achievements and create a community-based festival where residents and learners can connect naturally. A portion of the proceeds will go toward a scholarship fund, adding social value to the lifelong learning initiative.
The foundation plans to continue developing programs that link lifelong learning to the wider community, going beyond a simple exhibition to share learning outcomes and expand resident participation.
"The Wow Market is a participatory cultural space where residents can see and experience lifelong learning achievements up close," a foundation official said. "We will continue to expand programs so that all residents can enjoy and engage with lifelong learning in their everyday lives."
