The South Jeolla Province Social Service Agency's "Jeonnam Happy Bus" visited Haegok 3-ri (Budongchon Village) in Changpyeong-myeon, Damyang-gun on June 2, providing residents with a range of tailored services.
The Jeonnam Happy Bus project dispatches mobile teams directly to communities where residents have limited access to health, welfare and cultural services, delivering practical, lifestyle-focused support at the local level.
At the site, health management programs were on offer, including blood pressure and blood sugar checks, body composition analysis and stress assessments.
Residents could also take advantage of welfare services such as massage, hair and beauty care, nail art and knife sharpening. Cultural programs rounded out the day — kiosk-use education to improve digital access, a dementia prevention program and a volunteer performance.
Kim Mi-ran, the head of Haegok 3-ri, expressed gratitude for the initiative. "Elderly residents who have trouble getting around and lack convenient transportation face real difficulties accessing hospitals and cultural facilities," she said. "The Jeonnam Happy Bus has been a great help."
