Kim Jae-wook wins reelection as Chilgok-gun county chief

Kim Jae-wook won reelection as Chilgok-gun county chief in the 9th nationwide simultaneous local elections.

In a victory statement Wednesday, Kim said he would "carry forward the changes in Chilgok in accordance with the solemn mandate of the county's residents."

"I am deeply grateful to the residents who have entrusted me with county administration for another term following the past four years," he said. "I will take this result not as personal support, but as a call to keep driving regional development and change without pause."

Kim said he was thankful to those who voted for him and pledged to listen carefully to those who did not. "The election is over," he said. "It is time to set aside conflict and division and move toward harmony and unity."

Looking ahead, Kim said he would devote all his energy to delivering changes that residents can feel in their daily lives. "I will be a county chief for every resident," he said. "I will also push forward with my campaign pledges without delay and repay the community with tangible results for regional development."
