HS Hyosung Advanced Materials to showcase defense-grade composites at InLEX Korea 2026

HS Hyosung Advanced Materials will present its high-performance advanced materials technology at InLEX Korea 2026, a defense industry exhibition running Tuesday through Thursday at the Daejeon Convention Center.

The event, co-hosted by the Ministry of National Defense and Army Headquarters, is one of South Korea's premier defense industry showcases. The company plans to highlight defense applications of proprietary materials — including carbon fiber, aramid and lyocell — developed through its own technology.

Three core performance units — the Carbon Materials PU, Tire Reinforcement PU and Aramid PU — will all participate, with the aim of identifying new business opportunities in the defense sector.

The Carbon Materials PU will demonstrate the potential of carbon composites through a range of products, including propellant storage tanks for drones and satellites, drone carbon composite parts, short-cut fiber and carbon fiber 3K woven fabric.

The Aramid PU will display high-performance personal protective equipment for military personnel — ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests made from high-strength, heat-resistant aramid yarn. The Tire Reinforcement PU will introduce lyocell yarn, an eco-friendly, high-strength material, along with lyocell carbonized fabric processed from it.

"We will contribute to building a stable supply chain through continuous research and development and efforts to localize materials, and we will work to grow together with the defense industry," said Lim Jin-dal, chief executive of HS Hyosung Advanced Materials.
