Lee Myung-woo, vice chairman of Dongwon Industries, named chair of 'Gwangyang Great Transformation Committee'
Park Sung-hyun, the independent candidate elected as mayor of Gwangyang, has launched a transition committee for the ninth directly elected mayoral term and named Lee Myung-woo, vice chairman of Dongwon Industries, as its chair. The body is called the Gwangyang Great Transformation Committee.
Lee, a Busan native, previously served as president of Samsung Electronics' home appliance division in the United States before becoming vice chairman of Dongwon Industries. He will lead the committee drawing on his experience managing global corporations and driving organizational reform.
Yun Young-hak, a former director-level official at Gwangyang City Hall, will serve as vice chair, coordinating committee operations and inter-subcommittee work based on his experience in municipal administration.
The committee comprises 25 members, including sector specialists and civil servants, organized under a chair, a vice chair, a spokesperson and four subcommittees: the Planning and Administration Committee, the Industry and Economy Committee, the Welfare, Culture and City Committee, and the Future Strategy Special Committee.
