Yoo Dong-gyun received his certificate of election Tuesday afternoon at the 9th National Simultaneous Local Elections certificate presentation ceremony, held at the main auditorium of the Mapo-gu district office.
Yoo was joined at the ceremony by newly elected Seoul Metropolitan Assembly members and district council members, all of whom received their certificates.
"I will take the will of Mapo residents to heart and work hard for Mapo," Yoo said, pledging to "never forget the immense sense of responsibility and the boundless gratitude I feel."
He then reflected on a career spanning two terms as a district council member, a term as a Seoul Metropolitan Assembly member and now the district mayoralty, saying he would deliver "solid, substantive governance as a true administrator raised by 50 years of Mapo."
Yoo also said he would pursue "integration over division, progress over competition, and real change over performative administration," adding that cooperation with the district assembly would be paramount throughout the process.
Closing his remarks, Yoo said he would "repay the trust of Mapo residents and prove it through results without fail," expressing his determination to open a new era for the district as its foremost public servant.
