Yeungnam University of Science and Technology holds training lecture for integrated care service workers

Yeungnam University of Science and Technology held a special training lecture Monday for 180 lifestyle support workers affiliated with integrated care organizations in Daegu's Nam-gu. The event took place at the Cheonma Square audiovisual hall on the university's campus.

The lecture was organized to help care workers better respond to growing demand for elderly care as South Korea enters a super-aged society, and to improve the overall quality of community-based integrated care services.

Nam-gu District Office head Jo Jae-gu and university President Lee Jae-yong attended and delivered opening remarks. Park Seon-ran, a professor in the university's Department of Social Welfare Services, led the session on the topic of "Understanding Integrated Care Projects and Their Beneficiaries (the Elderly)."

The training carried added significance as a step toward building a foundation for the successful implementation of community integrated care policy, beyond its role as a professional development session.

"Yeungnam University of Science and Technology will continue to work with the community to provide specialized education that meets the needs of welfare workers on the ground, so that elderly residents can lead healthy and fulfilling lives in their communities," President Lee said.
