Seven city gas companies serving South Korea's southern region gathered to discuss ways to improve customer service quality and ensure stable customer center operations.

Gyeongnam Energy (CEO Shin Chang-dong) said the first regular meeting of the 2026 Southern Region City Gas CS Council was held recently at its headquarters in Changwon. More than 20 customer service representatives from seven southern city gas companies attended — Gyeongnam Energy, Gyeongdong City Gas, Busan City Gas, CNCITY Energy, JB, GSE and Haeyangenergi.

Participants shared key operational issues arising from the management of customer centers and call centers, and discussed joint response measures based on customer complaint and VOC (voice of customer) case studies.

The companies agreed to strengthen ongoing information exchange and mutual cooperation on the wide range of issues that arise at customer touchpoints. They noted that city gas services involve a high proportion of in-person fieldwork, including household safety inspections and pipeline meter readings.

"This council meeting was a meaningful occasion to discuss common challenges in city gas customer service and share best practices from each company," a Gyeongnam Energy official said. "We will continue to foster close communication among southern region city gas companies and work to improve service quality with consumers at the center."

The Southern Region City Gas CS Council plans to hold regular meetings twice a year to continuously discuss service improvement measures in response to changes in regulations and the operating environment.
