Choi Ki-young, mayor-elect of Bonghwa-gun, held an inaugural meeting Wednesday for his transition committee — named the "Community Harmony and Future Preparedness Committee" — formally kicking off the handover of county administration ahead of his ninth-term mandate.
The committee's name reflects Choi's commitment to moving away from top-down governance and building Bonghwa's future on a foundation of community unity and careful preparation.
Park Jong-hwa, chairman of the Bonghwa-gun Sports Council, was named committee chair, while Choi Sang-gyeong, a former head of the county office's planning and audit division, was appointed vice chair.
"The Community Harmony and Future Preparedness Committee is a crucial first step for the ninth-term Bonghwa county administration," Choi Ki-young said. "We will bring together the will of our residents and take responsible steps to prepare for Bonghwa's future."
