E-mart, DB Insurance launch 'Olla Pet Insurance' with unlimited medical coverage

E-mart announced Wednesday it has teamed up with DB Insurance to launch "Olla Pet Insurance," a product designed around the full life cycle of companion animals.

The product covers routine care through long-term treatment and liability, with no complex rider conditions attached. Its defining feature is unlimited medical coverage: hospitalization, outpatient visits and surgery costs stemming from illness or injury are all covered with no cap on the number of claims — up to 7 million won ($4,600) per incident and up to 30 million won per year.

Coverage is not limited to specific conditions or surgical costs. The product significantly broadens its scope to include common ailments such as skin and dental conditions, as well as high-cost treatments for patellar and hip joint disorders.

Eligibility and coverage conditions have also been strengthened. Pets up to 12 years old can enroll, with coverage extendable to age 20 upon renewal. Patellar and hip joint conditions become eligible for coverage 90 days after enrollment.

"E-mart will continue to expand products and services that reflect the needs of pet-owning households in line with their animals' life stages," said Park Jae-hyeong, E-mart's head of fashion and living.
