From the Com2uS headquarters in Gasandong to Anyang Stream, a public-private partnership works to build a cleaner environment — Com2uS has consistently carried out community contribution activities including charitable giving and volunteer work.
Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon) joined global game company Com2uS on Wednesday for a "plogging" environmental cleanup along Anyang Stream.
The event was organized to improve the local environment and promote eco-friendly practices in the community. More than 70 participants — including Com2uS employees and staff from the Geumcheon-gu Volunteer Center — walked roughly 3 kilometers from the vicinity of the Com2uS headquarters in Gasandong along Anyang Stream, collecting litter along the way.
Plogging combines jogging or walking with picking up trash, letting participants care for their health and the environment at the same time. Participation has been growing among companies and civic groups. Participants tidied up the stream's walking paths and green spaces, contributing to a cleaner urban environment.
Com2uS has consistently taken part in community outreach. Last year, the company built the "Com2uS Kitchen" to improve the education environment at the Geumcheon-gu Comprehensive Welfare Center for the Disabled. It has also volunteered to produce dementia-prevention learning aids to support the healthy retirement of senior citizens, provided support for the Nanuri Community Children's Center's facility improvements, and made donations to Hyemyeong Nursing Home — sustaining a steady commitment to vulnerable groups in the area.
"It was especially meaningful to be able to care for the area around our Gasandong office — where our employees commute every day — and for Anyang Stream, a resting place for local residents, with our own hands," a Com2uS official said. "We plan to continue developing eco-friendly social contribution activities that grow alongside the community, as part of our ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility."
District Mayor Yoo Sung-hoon expressed his gratitude to Com2uS employees for taking the lead in caring for the local environment. "I sincerely thank the Com2uS employees for setting an example in looking after our district," he said. "I hope we can continue a wide range of eco-friendly activities together as a public-private partnership."
