Actor Kim Young-ok has opened up about her feelings following the death of her husband.
A video titled "Grandma's honest confession after bereavement" was posted Wednesday on Kim's YouTube channel.
Meeting with the channel's production crew to share how she has been doing, Kim said she had lost her appetite since returning home alone. "When my husband was alive, I had to prepare his meals, so I would end up eating at least a little with him," she said. "But now there's no one here, so I just don't want to eat."
When the crew expressed concern upon noticing she had lost weight, Kim brushed it off. "It's just that I can't bring myself to eat — it's not grief or heartbreak," she said.
She went on to say she still senses her husband's presence. "Out of my own longing, I think I see his apparition," she said. "What stays with me most is the image of him sitting in a chair, looking out the window. I feel sorry. I feel like I did something wrong."
She added that the sudden stillness of her days has left her feeling hollow. "Maybe because I don't go out much, it suddenly feels like there's nothing to do," she said. "My heart feels empty — I don't even want to read a book. But I'm getting by."
