A woman in her 70s has been detained after allegedly beating her husband to death with a blunt object at their home in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province.
Judge Pyo Hyeon-ji of the Bucheon Branch of Incheon District Court issued an arrest warrant Thursday morning after conducting a pre-arrest hearing for the suspect, identified only as A, on murder charges. The judge cited a risk of flight as grounds for the warrant.
A is accused of striking her husband, B, who was in his 80s, multiple times with a blunt object at their apartment in Gogang-dong, Ojeong-gu, Bucheon, around 10:10 p.m. on May 31, killing him.
A sustained serious head injuries during the incident and was hospitalized. She was discharged Wednesday — 10 days after the attack — and arrested by police.
Police believe A attacked her husband during a domestic dispute and are investigating the exact circumstances of the case.
