Four-way partnership launched under 'K-Industrial Complex Growth Project'
Hana Financial Group said Thursday it signed an MOU on "expanding productive finance for industrial complexes" with the Korea Industrial Complex Corp., the Korea Industrial Complex Management Association and the Global Leading Companies Association.
The agreement aims to build a full-cycle corporate growth support system aligned with the government's productive finance policy, promoting technological innovation and new-industry transitions for companies in industrial complexes while nurturing regional growth engines.
The four organizations agreed to jointly advance the "K-Industrial Complex New Growth Project" (working title) to drive innovation and revitalize regional economies.
As a first step, they will establish the "Industrial Complex New Growth Fund" (working title), worth 50 billion won (approximately $32.8 million), to expand productive finance across industrial complexes. Hana Financial plans to use a blind fund structure to provide tailored growth capital — covering new business investment, technology development and project expansion — to promising tenants within industrial complexes and top-tier members of industrial complex business associations.
The partnership will also support full-cycle commercialization for tenant companies. Hana Financial will offer ESG (environmental, social and governance) management consulting, assistance with domestic and international certification, and preferential interest rates. The group also plans to participate in industrial complex open-innovation initiatives and regulatory reform efforts to deliver effective, customized solutions.
Cooperation will expand to support balanced regional development under the government's five-hub, three-special-zone framework. The partners will strengthen collaboration to revitalize industrial complexes outside the Greater Seoul area and will sponsor the second Korea Industrial Complex Export Fair (KICEF 2026), scheduled for September.
The group is also preparing financial support for future industrial infrastructure investment and structural upgrades to industrial complexes. It is developing investment advisory services and tailored financial products to help companies implement manufacturing AI transformation (M.AX) and meet RE100 — the commitment to sourcing 100 percent of electricity from renewable energy.
Hana Financial has set its productive finance supply target for this year at 17.8 trillion won, an increase of 1.6 trillion won from its original plan, and is moving quickly to deploy the funds.
"I hope the K-Industrial Complex New Growth Project becomes a firm stepping stone that leads Korean companies to a global leap forward," said Kang Seong-muk, vice chairman of Hana Financial Group. "Through the supply of venture capital and innovation support, we will work together to shape a brilliant future for Korea's industrial complexes."
