Yeongju Volunteer Crime Prevention Corps holds 22nd unity rally

The Yeongju Police Station Volunteer Crime Prevention Corps, led by Kim Chang-suk, held its "2026 Public Safety Capacity-Building and 22nd Unity Rally" at the Yeongju National Sports Center on Sunday.

The event was organized to recognize the contributions of volunteer patrol members working to keep the community safe and to strengthen camaraderie and solidarity among them.

About 400 volunteers and guests attended. The program included commendations for exemplary members, opening remarks, congratulatory speeches and a reading of a resolution reaffirming the corps' commitment to public safety.

Participants then took part in a range of activities, including team games and a group singing contest, giving members a chance to connect and build unity.

Eom Tae-hyeon, acting mayor of Yeongju, said the volunteer corps is "a steadfast partner in protecting local safety, working alongside residents to prevent crime and spread a culture of security." He added that the city would "do its utmost to build an even safer and more livable Yeongju through cooperation among citizens, government and police."
