Daegu Health College, Korea Labor Foundation hold joint workshop on mid-career employment services

The Job-Connection Center at Daegu Health College and the Korea Labor and Employment Service Foundation's Daegu Middle-Aged Tomorrow Center jointly held a workshop on developing a mid-career employment service model and building a leading framework for suitable job placement. The two-day event ran June 11-12 at the Bohyeon Training Center in Miryang, South Gyeongsang Province.

The workshop was organized by the Handalbit Glocal Health Alliance — a consortium of Daegu Health College, Gwangju Health College and Daejeon Health College formed after the group was selected for the Glocal University 30 initiative. The event aimed to share best practices in the health and welfare sectors with partner institutions and to develop an intergenerational employment model that supports both youth and middle-aged workers.

About 70 people attended, including representatives from the alliance universities, the Korea Labor and Employment Service Foundation's Middle-Aged Tomorrow Center, the Daegu Employment Welfare Plus Center, the Daegu Metropolitan City Youth Center and middle-aged job seekers.

During the workshop, organizers also offered special career development lectures, aptitude assessments and career counseling sessions for women who had experienced career interruptions.

"We will continue to expand job-connection services that bridge youth and middle-aged workers, and build an intergenerational employment system that grows alongside the local community," said Kwon Yong-hyeon, head of the student employment office and a professor in the health administration department.
