Dobong-gu Named Outstanding District for Donghaeng Center Operations

Dobong-gu in Seoul, led by District Mayor Oh Eon-seok, has been named an "outstanding district" in the Seoul Metropolitan Government's 2025 District Donghaeng Center Operations Performance Evaluation.

It is the first time Dobong-gu has earned the outstanding district designation for its Donghaeng Center operations.

Donghaeng Centers serve as integrated welfare and health delivery systems at the neighborhood level, bringing together public agencies and private organizations to coordinate community support.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government assessed all 25 districts on their overall Donghaeng Center operations over the past year.

The evaluation covered 20 indicators across nine categories in three areas. Dobong-gu received strong marks across all five assessed areas: welfare delivery system operations, welfare blind-spot outreach, case management, public-private cooperation and health management projects.

The district has steadily advanced the core functions of its Donghaeng Centers, including identifying and supporting residents in welfare blind spots, providing tailored monitoring, managing integrated cases and running a public-private cooperation network.

The district's efforts to strengthen a resident-centered welfare delivery system and pursue field-based welfare administration drew high marks from evaluators.

"We will use this recognition as momentum to further strengthen the Donghaeng Center's functions and do our utmost to build a tight-knit, community-centered welfare safety net," a district official said.
