Cheongdo-gun wins excellence award at 2026 National Farm Expo

Cheongdo-gun in North Gyeongsang Province won the Excellence in Local Government Award at the 2026 National Farm Expo, held at the aT Center in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, the county announced Saturday.

The county was recognized for its programs supporting people relocating to rural areas, its efforts to cultivate young farmers, and its policies to attract urban residents.

Cheongdo-gun operates a comprehensive support center for rural migrants, offering tailored services including counseling, education, field visits and mentoring.

The county said it plans to build on the award by strengthening its rural migration policies and accelerating efforts to revitalize the local agricultural community and draw in more residents.

"It is deeply meaningful to receive the Excellence in Local Government Award at the National Farm Expo, following our earlier recognition at the Y-Farm Expo," said Kim Dong-gi, deputy county chief of Cheongdo-gun. "We will work to make Cheongdo the top destination in South Korea for people seeking a new life in the countryside."
