Gyeongsan wins excellence award at North Gyeongsang Province local tax administration evaluation

Gyeongsan city in North Gyeongsang Province won an excellence award at the "2026 Comprehensive Local Tax Administration Evaluation" organized by the provincial government, the city announced Sunday.

Gyeongsan earned the recognition for improving the accuracy of tax revenue forecasting through precise tax base management, reducing erroneous and overpaid tax refunds, and actively participating in identifying system improvement tasks, for which it received bonus points.

The city received particularly strong marks in local tax collection for pursuing a range of delinquency resolution measures aimed at minimizing carryover tax arrears.

"This award is the result of our citizens' faithful tax compliance and the hard work of our tax administration staff," Gyeongsan Mayor Jo Hyeon-il said. "I ask that we continue to advance tax administration that meets the expectations of our residents."
