Goryeong-gun Assembly holds preliminary meeting for incoming lawmakers

The Goryeong-gun Assembly in North Gyeongsang Province held a preliminary meeting June 19 for incoming members of the 10th Goryeong-gun Assembly at the Ureuk Hall of the county office.

The gathering was organized to support a smooth launch of the 10th Assembly and help newly elected lawmakers prepare for their legislative duties ahead of the body's opening session in July.

All seven incoming members attended — six constituency lawmakers and one proportional representative — along with senior civil servants from the county administration.

The meeting opened with introductions between the incoming lawmakers and senior civil servants, followed by briefings on the Assembly's general operations, member registration requirements, mandatory reporting obligations and the legislative support system available to members.

"We hope this preliminary meeting will serve as an opportunity for the incoming members to prepare smoothly for their legislative activities and to build mutual communication," an Assembly official said. "We will do our best to ensure the Assembly faithfully represents the will of the people of Goryeong-gun."

Meanwhile, the 10th Goryeong-gun Assembly is scheduled to hold its 312th extraordinary session on July 6, at which members will elect the first-half speaker and deputy speaker before formally opening the Assembly and beginning full legislative activities.
