Ahn Hyo-seop marks 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' first anniversary: 'Fans completed this film'

Actor Ahn Hyo-seop has expressed his gratitude to global fans on the first anniversary of the Netflix animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters."

Ahn voiced Jinwoo, the leader of boy group Saja Boys and a grim-reaper idol, in the film.

In an interview video released on Netflix's official channel, Ahn said the film holds deep personal significance for him. "I feel truly grateful because I think fans have kept this work alive over the past year," he said.

Recalling memorable fan reactions, Ahn expressed his appreciation for the attention fans have shown the film. "I saw so much fan art, dance covers and song covers — I loved all of it," he said. "It was impressive to see so many people showing affection for the characters and enjoying them, and above all, I loved seeing fans having fun together."

He added, "Thank you for staying with us. I sincerely want to say how deeply grateful I am — I truly believe you are the ones who completed this film."

Meanwhile, Ahn has been expanding his reach into North America, riding the wave of enthusiasm that "K-Pop Demon Hunters" generated.

Earlier this year, he made back-to-back appearances on NBC's flagship talk show "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and morning program "Today," raising his profile across North America. He also attended the 98th Academy Awards and walked the red carpet at the 2026 Met Gala alongside Maison Valentino.

In addition, "Something Special," his collaboration with R&B pop star Khalid, climbed to No. 39 on Spotify's Top 50 Songs chart in the United States.
