A celebrated Namdaemun kitchenware destination is coming to the first below-ground floor of Lotte World Mall in Jamsil.
Lotte Department Store announced Monday that it is hosting a Hyundai Gimul & Park Geurut pop-up store at its lifestyle select shop Sisihoshi through July 5.
Hyundai Gimul & Park Geurut has operated for 35 years in the Namdaemun wholesale kitchenware district, selling stylish tableware and kitchen goods at accessible prices. The shop has recently gained a following among young shoppers and newlyweds, earning a reputation as a must-visit kitchenware destination.
To mark the pop-up, Lotte Department Store will give a chopstick rest to customers who spend 50,000 won (about $33) or more. The store is also running a social media event, selecting five customers who post about the pop-up to receive additional prizes.
"We wanted to bring Hyundai Gimul — a place people once had to travel all the way to Namdaemun to experience — somewhere closer," said Choi Yun-seok, head of Lotte Department Store's content division. "We hope it draws a lot of attention."
